We are a group of parents that want to share their knowledge and their experiences with other parents of brain injured children.
Our reviews try to be the most accurate, precise and objective, like an observational study should be done.
We write here our own experiences with Dr. Gunvant Oswal's G-Therapy in the hope that someday, these will be useful for other needy people and give them the hope they need to face their disease.
In India, ancient Sanskrit writings, The Vedas, tell about everything that concerns knowledge of man and God and eternal relationship between them. According with Vedic Scriptures, healthy and right nutrition is Vegetarian nutrition; a real vegetarian doesn’t eat meat, fish nor eggs (yes, also eggs, because even if they are fertilized or not, they are just a lamp of matter ready to create the body). There are also Vegans, that do not eat even milk and dairy products because they condemn the exploitation of cows on an industrial level. But The Vedas, even if condemn animal exploitation, consider Milk and Dairy products essentials for human beings. And invite to use dairy products that have been obtained in a compassionate way, protecting and respecting cows as much as possible. Another thing, that you should know before eating every kind of cheese is that most cheeses are produced with animal rennet, which is extracted from the calves' stomach. Maybe, would be better, if possible, to avoid these cheeses, because they are obtained with a product that has caused animal death. The cheeses you could choose are those produced with microbial rennet or simply with milk curdled with vinegar or lemon juice. This would be much more compassionate and in agreement to a lifestyle that respects every living being.
Did you ever ask to yourself why many of the most important personalities in history were vegetarians?
The smartest, the most cultured, the most open, the most tolerant of the world in all ages, in all fields of knowledge: in the sciences, in philosophy, in art, in literature, in medicine did not eat meat. They understood something that we didn’t…or that we generally prefer to ignore: our society would be better, our earth would healthier, our hearts would be purer, if we would refrain us from eating dead flesh. This phrase is from the Greek physician Hippocrates:
"Nature is Sovereign Medication of evils. First do not harm. Pure air is the first food and the first medicine. No poison is ever used to cure a sick person! " For those who do not know the word “pharmacy” comes from the Greek “pharmakon”, which means poison. And Pitagora said:
"My friends, avoid corrupting your body with unclean foods; there are fields of wheat, apples so abundant as to bend the trees of the branches, grapes that fills the vines, tasty herbs and vegetables to be cooked. The earth offers a great quantity of riches, of pure food, which do not cause bloodshed or death. "
Leonardo Da vinci believed that:
"There will come a time when we will consider the killing of an animal with the same blame with which we consider today that of a man." But in the meanwhile: "My body will not be a tomb for other creatures."
Einstein explained that:
"The choice of vegetarian life, even if only for its physical effects on human temperament, would have an extremely beneficial influence on most of humanity". And Gandhi teached that:
“We have to correct the false belief that the vegetarian diet makes us weak, passive and obscene. I really do not think meat is absolutely essential for any reason. I feel that our spiritual progress will inevitably lead us to stop killing animals to meet material needs. " There are also economic reasons to switch to a vegetarian diet. The problem hunger in the world is just “dummy”. If we would harvest with legumes and peanuts most of the fields that are now harvested with corn for the huge need of food for animal intensive breeding, we would be able to raise less animals in a more dignified and healthy way and we would be able to produce the food necessary to feed most or all hungry people.
Are there Karmic reasons in vegetarianism?
Karma means “action”, or better, “an action that involves a reaction”. So, even if this was an Eastern concept, is now globally known, and also almost globally well-known, that what we do will imply something back to us. We collect what we sow and we have to spread positive and good energies to received them back multiplied.
Hippocrates used to say:
"Whatever a man does to the animals, he will be repaid with the same coin." And in the Manusmriti, (6, 60) is written:
"One becomes worthy of salvation when one kills no living being" And also in the Bible, Genesis (1:29) is said:
“See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food” So, maybe, if we are trying to improve the quality of our live, and the quality of life of our beloved family, a change in our way of eating could be useful.
this year, I often thought about my karma's implication in this life, and I thought that a
more compassionate and responsible way to feed ourselves would be better, and, would be also a much healthier choice for my baby.
But I can understand that this is a personal choice, so everyone should do as he feels in his heart.
